Everytime i let my dog to go to the toilet in the garden she always rushes out and starts barking ma

Everytime my dog goes to toilet, she has this habit of running straight to the corner of the garden and barks liek mad, it is very embaressing when it is late iat night when everyone is sleeping. we tell her to stop but she carrys on and realise her back hair stands up? she is 1 and half year old german shepherd and we live facing some houses opposite us. how can we make her stop and let her go to toilet in one peice.?

Everytime i let my dog to go to the toilet in the garden she always rushes out and starts barking mad.?

take a soda pop can or what ever kind of can. put 7 pennies in it and tape over top. take dog out on a leash and tell her potty,do you business or what ever you say. if she starts to bark shake the can at her and say a firm NO!! the shock of the noise will make her stop. right away tell her she is a good girl and give a small treat. repeat every time she barks. you may want to do this during the day time also so she starts associating potty with bad noise and quiet with a positive reward. and you will not be disturbing neighbor.

I have a two year old gsd and she does it....Its a territory thing!

Funny she does it with my wife but I tell her not too and she`s usually fine... I think its a man thing...ha ha ha...

Try taking her out on a lead and reassure her all the time..

Everytime i let my dog to go to the toilet in the garden she always rushes out and starts barking mad.?

you will have a very hard task trying to cure that with the amount of foxes and cats around i have 3 dogs and have the same problem good luck.

So does my dog, along with my other two!!! She's warning anyone in the area of your garden to clear off because she's out there, she's not barking at anything in particular. I know how you feel on the neighbours front but try this and see if it helps, it works for me - sometimes ha ha. When you go to the door to let her out ( if she's anything like my lot thats when the yapping starts? ) just open it a tiny bit - let her do the pushing open bit! I find by doing that, they lose the incentive to go raving mad! Try it and see. If that doesn't work you'll have to walk out with her to make sure she stays quiet, the last thing you need is complaints - good luck.

maybe there is always a cat that sits up there its happy to be out just leave her out for a we while then so she can relax.put somethin up in the corner so she cant get up there

Fill a plastic bottle with pebbles or coins. Then when your dog starts to bark say "quiet" and throw the bottle in her direction (avoid hitting her) your dog will be startled. Do this several times during the day, eventually she will want to avoid the startling sound and will stop when you say "quiet". When she does this give her a treat.

Also train her to pee on command, when she is in full flow always say "get one" and praise her afterwards. After a couple of weeks she will pee on command.

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

I cut my beagles hair on his back very low. It was spur of the moment, and now I regret it. I was doing it thinking that it would let him reach his "itchy spot", and help him cool down. Now he's running around freaking out, and his coat looks horrible.

Is what I did bad for my dog?

How long will it take for it to grow back?

Should I just get his whole body groomed to even out where I cut his hair really low?

Any other suggestions, please

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

he probably is embarrased of the bad cut.

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

It will grow back. But if hes itching that bad he needs to see a vet.

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

He might've had an itchy spot because he had some sort of minor bug infestation that is now worse because of the shave; especially if you cut too low to the skin-poor baby's probably itchier then ever!

I'd take him to the vet and see if he can give him a specially medicated bath and a nice salve to sooth the itch until his hair grows back...

Take him in TODAY!

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

I think you should let him eat peanut butter out of YOUR hair. That oughta make things even.

I cut my beagle's hair on his lower back, is it unheathly for him?

Actually if it was a hot spot you did the best thing.

It will grow back. I would suggest if it is itchy some cortizone spray to put on it. You can get it at any petstore.

As for the itchy spot, you should take him to a vet. Could be a hot spot, allergies, or bugs. As for shaving him it is not unhealthy but pointless and not that smart. Beagles have short hair as is they do not need to get it cut or shaved. I bet he looks horrible I can only picture if my little beagle was shaved. She would look dumb. Ha ha ha!!!

Just let it grow back in it will be fine but get that itch looked at.

Your dog will be fine; unless you actively hunt your dogs in thickets and briars. The beagles coat protects them from there hunting environment. In the summer time I shave all four of beagles from neck to tail; because they are inside dogs mostly and helps keep down the shedding. My dogs love it, when they see the clippers they come running. (it might also be because they know they will get a scooby snack after the cut ....:)

Dog Food Help/ Sick Dog?

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I have a 14 month old chocolate lab. Until she was about 6 months she had a beautiful coat; however, since then her coat has become dull and very patchy with lighter hair growing in. She is full breed, registered AKC. I had her on IAMS for awhile until about 2 months ago, when I switched her to Natural Balance Venison %26amp; Brown Rice. She really seemed to enjoy this food so I kept her on it. Just the other day she threw up and will not touch the food for anything. I am becoming concerned and have offered her the Duck and Potato which she barely eats. Any info on the coat issue and the eating issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, check for signs of bloat. the lack of eating and vomiting is one sign but look at her from above and see if her stomach is bubbled out some. If so give her and imodium AD as soon as possible if you have it on hand and rush her to the emergency vet. Bloat is normally fatal because the stomach twists and doesn't allow food in or out of the dogs body. The gases from stomach acid expand the stomach and it eventually puts excessive strain on the spin and can even break it or the stomach will rupture. Even if the stomach is not expanded it would be a good idea to call your vet and explain the symptoms. I would also recommend switching your dog to a more digestible food. While Narual balance is better than Iams it still contains high amounts of cornmeal and brewers rice which are used as fillers. Find a food that contains a meat as the first ingredient such as maximum nutrition from Walmart or Innova from health food stores. Innova Evo is the best food I have found. Do not use canned food as it contains high amounts of preservatives that are hard on the dogs digestive system and can result in loose stool. It also causes increased bacteria in the dogs mouth which can result in peridontis disease.

Time to go to the vet. Dull coat and poor appetite can mean many things. Thyroid problems come to mind, but there are many other possible causes.

Dog Food Help/ Sick Dog?

I would have the dog looked at by a vet. Her coat should have improved with the food change since Natural Balance is a much better dog food than Iams. It is possible for dogs to be allergic to even good foods though, which could explain both issues.

Dog Food Help/ Sick Dog?

try to feed he unseasoned canned chicken and white rice.. Or take her to the vet they have a special line of food for sick puppies its perscription diet but you have to get it from the vet

Dog Food Help/ Sick Dog?

Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice formula (no wheat and no corn or soy) has worked for my 4 large dogs. In my opinion, the ingredients we want to stay away from is wheat, corn, and soy, and anything similar like wheat gluten, corn meal, etc. It is not that these are bad, they just are not good ( do not provide benificial nutrition, rather used as filler to make the dogs feel more full). Being that dogs are carnivores, these carbs can be hard for their body to digest, leading to skin and digestion problems which lead to other problems. The food is a main way we can ensure a dog has a healthy coat. Also, putting a raw egg in their food is a treat and excellent for their coats. I suppliment my dog food with raw ground beef and vegetables. Being that my dogs won't eat vegetable chunks, I puree zuccini, carrots, celery, cilantro, tomatos, garlic, raw eggs, and I sometimes mix and match different fruits to puree too. I mix the puree in to the raw meat and package it individually, and suppliment Nutro with the raw food in the evenings and stick strictly to Nutro in the AM. Shampoo is another item that may be affecting the coat. With hard water, we can never rid of all the soap in their coat leaving them with dry itchy skin. I take my dogs swimming always keeping their coats exquisite. If I don't make it to the lake and they are dirty, I will bathe them with the hose and massage and scrape them clean with my hands but I never use soap! If you do, know that a little goes a long way. The less the better! I hope this helps to address the problems that I've spent a lot of time working through myself.

I have a black lab/doberman male dog and he is 10 1/2 years old. Recently he has been gagging a lot.

He has been doing this for the last 3 months. I have not changed his food or anything. He doesn't throw up anything, he just gags all the time like as if he is going to bring up a hair ball. (if he were a cat that is) Does anybody know why a senior dog has started to do this?

I have a black lab/doberman male dog and he is 10 1/2 years old. Recently he has been gagging a lot.?

I'd get him to a vet. I hate to tell you this, mine (a shepherd) did this and he had a tumor on his spleen. He still acted like himself playing and protecting. Unfortunately I had to decide to not lengthen his discomfort, surgery was no guarantee of his survival, which would not have been fair to put him through. This may not be the case with your dog, but please find out if he has any type of digestive issues, maybe gerd like us humans get or heart issue and it can be corrected/controlled with medication. I hope all turns out well. Give him a hug for me.

I think three months is too much time to have gone by without seeing the vet. Make an appointment %26amp; let the vet examine your dog!!!

Don't leave it to the last min to find out the hard way ,take him to your local vet.

I have a black lab/doberman male dog and he is 10 1/2 years old. Recently he has been gagging a lot.?

He could have kennel cough-caught from another dog, or a small object has damaged or is lodged in his throat, post-nasal drip, or major organ failure. Your vet can tell you which.

Take your dog to the vet!

Your dog could have ate something which it is stuck down there and is trying to bring it up.

You need to get him to the vets asap. In an older dog like him it is not unusual to develop a tumour. If it is a tumour and it gets to big he could choke to death and axphyxiate.

would he have a collapsed trachea my 13 year old dog sometimes makes a hacking noise although that is usually caused by pulling on the lead that is one suggestion.i am not sure what gagging is .

My dog has a neck rash - help?

I first noticed this skin problem three weeks ago, there was a dime-sized spot and some other smaller spots of the rash. There is hair loss all around the area (it's a place his collar usually rubs so I attributed the hair loss to the collar).

We left his collar off for the last three weeks and the rash went away after about two weeks. I left the collar off anyway just in case but the rash has come back. There is a dime-sized spot which was raised this morning, and has become bloody-looking this evening, and another small spot.

The spots look like they are bloody, not bleeding but like the blood is coming to the surface. They are raised. The hair has not grown back.

I am taking him to the vet tomorrow or Monday but would like some insight in the meantime. I am worried! Any idea what it could be? It does not seem painful to him to touch or squeeze or rub the rash.

My dog has a neck rash - help?

That almost sounds like ringworm (not sure of course though sight unseen). As long as you're getting him to the vet soon and he doesn't seem to be in pain in the meantime, it sounds like he'll be fine. Keep an eye on him to make sure it isn't bothering and to verify that all of his other behaviors are normal. Also, since you're not sure what exactly he has going on it may be best to handle the area as little as possible and wear gloves when doing so. Good luck!

My dog has a neck rash - help?

My dog had the same problem, pretty much fitting your description to a tee. The vet said she thought he had an allergic reaction to something. He got a shot and some antibiotics that he was on for 2 weeks, and the spots went away.

My dog has a neck rash - help?

Could be ringworm or some other skin parasite. Be sure your vet takes a skin scraping and checks it out under a microscope. Both drive the dog nuts so they must scratch it which can cause the redness/bloody look which will turn into a secondary infection if treated properly. With skin disease, such as ringworm or mange, these can be passed to humans (zoonotics) so be sure to ask your vet about it.

My dog has a neck rash - help?

take your dog in to see a vet

My dog has a neck rash - help?

Woah dont mess with it! It's probably what they call a hot spot. It's nothing too big, but it is an infected rash. Don't let him scratch it anymore, and hair loss is normal. The vet will find out what the cause of it is and end it. They will probably give you ointment for it. He will be urged to scratch though and it will only make it worse. It's not too serious though, just get him to the vet and he'll be okay :)

My dog has a neck rash - help?

My dog (Boston Terrier) had a skin issue, and I took her to the Vet. She prescribed some cream to rub on it. It was obviously an allergic reaction to something she had been into. It took about 2 weeks for it to get completely well, but eventually her hair did grow back. Good luck!!!

My dog has a neck rash - help?

Years ago, I had a Samoyd huskey tha developed a rash on her neck in the collar area. I took her to the vet, because she was gettin bald spots where the rash was as well. I was told that it was called moist-dermatitas. I got a cream for the rash, and had to keep her dry. She was an outdoor dog, and the rash developed from her fur getting wet and chafing from her collar. It took awhile to clear up, but eventually her hair grew back, and she was as good as new.

My dog has no fur on her butt! Is this normal?

I have a 4 month old puppy (maltese/jack russel mix) I noticed that she has no fur on her back side. I also noticed her hair is very short on her legs, but long everywhere else. I assume she has a mix of maltese hair in certain areas and jack russel hair in other areas.. But this still doesn't explain the fact that she has no fur on her butt!

Any suggestions?

My dog has no fur on her butt! Is this normal?

It could be a type of mange that puppies get and outgrow, or the kind that needs treatment. It could be a flea allergy that requires an injection. I suggest taking her to the vet and finding out why she's bald.

My dog has no fur on her butt! Is this normal?

Oh! Oh!

My dog has no fur on her butt! Is this normal?

take her to the vets to get her checked out.

you never no this could be serious.

My dog and snow....?

i have a poodle and her hair is very long( we didnt cut it because we felt that she was going to be cold when it snowed.) its the first time she has seen snow., but thats not the problem. the problem is that she enjoys going out side and all, but the snow is high this time. and because of her hair, it sticks all over her paws and then it is very difficult to get out( only with water. do you think that if i cut the hair on her paws and a little on her legs this could make the snow NOT stick? or would it just make her cold?

My dog and snow....?

I would definiately trim her hair. If the hair is long there, mats can form very easily. If they are getting wet, they are getting tighter and twisting each time they dry. Imagine a hard, twisted hairball between your toes you have to walk on-not pleasant.

If it's not matter you could just ask your groomer to scissor the hair even with the pad rather than shave it. This way she still has some protection there, but not interfering with her traction or getting matted up.

If you're concerned about her being cold you can get her a coat and yes, even boots. Most dogs though don't really feel the cold as we do in normal circumstances. I just wouldn't leave her out for prolonged periods.

My dog and snow....?

LMAO,, she gets "snowballs" on her feet,,, ALL DOGS DO, that is because her feet have sweat glands,, relax,, as soon as she comes inside, she will get right to work biting off her snowballs and they will melt to.. i wouldn't worry about pouring water on them... lol i am gonna send you a video, shows a sheep with snowballs too.

My dog and snow....?

I think you could cut a very short hair from her paws... And all I know dogs can tolerate severe cold than humans.
