Any veternarians or dog experts i have a really important question about my dog????

I have an italian greyhound she is either 9 or 10 i can't remember!! Well i have been noticing that the black stuff is coming off of her nose right where her hair meets her nose!!! Anybody or any veternarians out there have any idea of what it could be?? I don't think she has been scratching at it any. I don't think it seems to be bothering her either!!

When stuff comes out of a human nose and it is not caused by a cold , flu, or allergies, then something could be wrong with the brain and there is a spinal type disease that causes such discharge from the nose.

If you do not know the cause for the stuff coming out of the nose, take your dog to the vet. Ask the vet what is wrong. I am sure it is something minor, but what if?

Hello, sometimes that area can get a little dry..dab it with some vaseline or olive oil for a few days, twice a day, see if that helps..if not, then ask a vet ..Take Care :)

The black stuff? do you mean the pigmentation on her nose is changing? With age the pigment of the nose does change in most dogs. If there is no noticable lumps or bumps or any other out of the ordinary sign of rash then it is just a change of pigment that comes with age.

Check to see if her skin is dry anywhere else.if her nose is very dry then her skin is just dry and flaky.try rubbing a little bit of Vaseline on it not alot just in case she licks it.

It's hard to say without seeing it. If you can't tell what it is, it's probably a good idea to take her to the vet.

Is it coming off in chunks, or you mean that the black pigment is now a pink colour? If she is just losing the colour in her nose leather, it could be due to old age... an allergy, etc.. If she is healthy otherwise.. it's likely not a problem. If she has other problems with her coat or skin, you likely should see a vet.

if you are referring to the black pigment in the nose turning pink. that is normal. like as we age our hair changes color. turning Grey that sort of thing. dogs will also change. the fur will whiten and the dark colors fade. if it don't seem to bother her, i wouldn't worry too much about it. my husky's nose did that. went from a coal black to a piggy pink. its all good
