I have an appointment with her vet, but my Gordon Setter had a spot appear on her hip on Sunday. It looked like a mole, but it was new and the hair in a dime size area was missing. I felt it and it was kinda an unattached lump. Yesterday I looked at her and was flabergasted. It is now a 2" diameter on her hip. It is moist(which she keeps licking it) with deeper "pock marks" in some areas. Its not crusty and their is a deep red/burgundy circle around it that is about an inch across on th outside of the lesion. There seem to be some small almost skin tag looking things in that area. I don't think it's ring worm. When I first saw it I thought it was a hot spot but with the mole thing on their to begin with, I'm not so sure. She is horrible about getting licking granulomas and fussing with anything and everything. I sprayed her with bitter apple and she's one of those that couldn't care less. Any ideas what this could be?

sounds like maybe a spider bite...brown recluse...maybe
