My dog has brown things..?

On his chin. I was scratching his neck when I noticed a few blobs. When I looked in the light I found a few brown things that were attached to his hair, but when I looked even closer there was a small blobs of a bunch of brown 'things'. Teddy has long hair, he's an Australian Shepherd, and for Thanksgiving he went to a kennel where he came back with fleas. I was wondering if the brown 'things' could be related to that. Thanks for the help!

If they look like they might be "bloated" it could be ticks. I would keep and eye for another day or so. If they get bigger try to pull them out and if they come out burn them with a lighter or dunk them in alcohol (that will kill the ticks). Otherwise I would call a vet and describe what the brown things look like, they may be able to tell you what they are with out even going to the vet. Hope this helped you.

ask a vet

maybe ticks i dunno

My dog has brown things..?

They could be. If they are attached...they could be ticks. I would get a flea and tick medicine from your Vet and get him tested for any kind of doggie disease. Depending on the Kennel...some places have been known to keep yucky doggies if they weren't a responsible kennel.

Put them in water. If they turn into red liquid, then it's blood- Flea poop.

Are they scabs? Some dogs and cats have flea allergies and as a result, they scratch at the area's and cause scabs to form. How big are the blobs? If that is the case, then you might consider getting him an allergy shot. Also, is the flea problem resolved? A good indication as to whether a dog still has flea's is "flea dirt"...it looks and feels just like that...dirt in area's of the skin and fur (usually found at the base of the tail or neck).

Your dog has been eating his own turds. Or someone elses turds. Not unusual for dogs, just remember this next time he licks your face.

These brown things are like the dingleberries on your own hairy @ss.

Are the brown "things" living? Are they inanimate? If they are living, i would remove them immediately and take the dog to your vet. But they may just be scabs from scratching. Has he been treated for his flea infestation. If not, he should be taken to the vet as soon as possible (not an emergency clinic, unless he is dull, lethargic and his mucous membranes (gums) are white), to address the flea situation and also treat him for tapeworms, which are carried by the dog and cat flea. It also may be dirt, fur mats or something else benign.

My dog has brown things..?

depends on what they actually look like. If they are blobs of brown things, not moving but stuck to the hair, they could be flea eggs. If he just had fleas at thanksgiving, it is likely he could still have egg sacs, that still have fleas in them. If they are moving could be fleas or ticks.

What we did when my dog had fleas that we could not get rid of (after 3 flea dustings), we completely cut all of the hair off that had egg sacs and gave him a couple really really good baths in flea shampoo, one a week for three weeks. I think removing all of the egg sacs worked because he didn't get any afterwards.

If it is attached than u need to talk to a vet immeditaly my grand mother has a dog who had brown things on her face and needed to get it removed, or if it is unattached than it is a tick
