Best type of small dog?

go to the shelter and pick out an animal. Pick out an adult, then you will be getting the exact size you want and a dog that has some social skills already. You can get a wide variety of animals at the shelter and they will already have all of their shots and be nuetered/spayed and will only be about $100. You are also saving one from death row usually.

Well it all depends on what you want and your lifestyle, but a longhaired or wirehaired Dachshund might be good. Dachshunds are great little dogs. You can usually adopt one for cheaper than from a breeder. You can also look up Maltese, Papillon, Shih-Tzu, and Poodles. Also try adopting a dog if possible. Those dogs have a lot to give and you can find purebreds and mixed breeds.

Best type of small dog?

Best type is not purchased, it's free. If you buy a dog, you run a big chance of getting one that is very sick and could cost you a lot in medical expenses and could die. That is because the people who breed them don't care about the dog or about you, they're just making money. Those dogs live in misery - never get out of their wire cages, their poor little feet never touch the ground, they get no attention %26amp; love - until you buy. PLEASE don't buy. Please look into adoption from the pound. Or, when you know the type you want, look into adopting from that breed's Rescue group. There are Rescue groups for all the major breeds. Type in the name of the breed %26amp; "rescue" %26amp; you'll get the organizations.

Papillons are excellent companions. They're, by far, the most intelligent of the toy breeds and one of the smartest of all breeds. They're incredibly easy to train and have wonderful temperaments. Housebreaking can be the only struggle, but other than that it's smooth sailing. They're beautiful and everyone from old women to tough bikers is attracted to them because they look so unique. They grow long fur that sheds minimally and requires almost no grooming- only a light brushing once a week. They can cost between $1,000 and $1,500 from a reputable breeder.

Best type of small dog?

a maltese sounds like a puppy you might like. They are a fluff ball when their hair is grown out, but it will need groomed.

Best type of small dog?

Some sort of doodle. (Like poodle.) They;re really small and sooooo cute!!! Hope this helps and have a great day! -question001

Best type of small dog?

First - concerning another answer on here - please don't get a Pomeranian or other toy breed if you are a child or have children in your home. Pomeranians are great dogs, very smart, loyal to their owner, active, etc. but their bones are tiny and they can easily be hurt. Second - don't "buy" a puppy. Go to the shelter and adopt one that needs a loving home. The fees are minimal and the rewards are great! In fact, you may fall in love with one on sight that is nothing at all like the puppy you are trying to describe. Go spend several hours there and play with one or two to find a dog that suits your family. PLEASE!
