Take her to the vet. Her being spayed or not has nothing to do with hair loss. Although I do think you should get her spayed though as she could get sick from not being spayed but usually hair loss isnt associated with being intact

Actually, it has nothing to do with her being spayed. She is older, and probably has some type of thyroid problem that usually causes hair to fall out. Take her to the vet for a check up and see what he / she says.

Hair loss in dogs is usually associated with a thyroid problem or fleas. Both can be corrected with the help of a vet. Don't waste time getting her there. It would be responsible to have her spade also. This can prevent ovarian cancer and also unwanted puppies that may have to be euthanized. Enjoy your pet - they become family, don't they?

YES spay her (unrelated to hair loss but the best thing health wise to do for her). Unaltered male and female dogs run a risk of cancer down the road. Have a T4 thyroid test done on her to start with. If that shows within the normal range try gradually switching her food. Has she been scratching ?

ha ha real funny. You don't kneed to spade your dog just because it is loosing it's hair. Take it to the vet it might have mange.

It might be wise to spay her regardless of her hair loss since leaving her intact season after season almost insures that she will get uterine or mammary cancer soon. That might even be why she is loosing coat if she is having to deal with undiagnosed cancer. If she hasn't previously had false pregnancies, it is very odd that she would now and that would be a big red flag regarding her health. Also as dogs age their thyroid looses function and she might be needing to have her thyroid checked and be put on replacement but I would surely have her spayed asap as it is just asking for cancer if it isn't already there. Stress causes hair loss as well as hot spots and numerous health problems take her to the vet. And yes some dogs do have false pregnancies which causes hair loss(pregnancy that is).
