Is it ok for my dog?

Hey people, halloween is coming up and I was going as a timptrest(sp?) and thought I would put my dog into it. shes a really smal yorkie but shes grown, and was wondering if it would hurt her to spray her hair with red hairspray(the kind u get in the store)? she would be going as a devil. also if u have any other suggestions on what a dog could be with that costume please tell!!!! I also have a chocolate lab if u have any ideas for him to!

Don't spray anything on the dog. You can get a devil costume I know they sell them at PetSmart and they have some cute ones at Target.

Please don't ever put anything on your dog that isn't intended to be on an animal. It can irritate her skin and can cause her hair to fall out.

I wouldn't try it. If your dog for some reason injests any of the spray she could get rather sick. I'd jst buy her a little devil costume. I know they sell them for the small dogs.

do not use human products on your dog.

There are some pet-safe dyes available.. I do not know where you can get them tho, maybe a groom shop would carry some.. or you can just buy a costume at walmart or target that is made for dogs.

Not sure about hair spray as I don't know if it's safe for dogs. but food colouring may be safer if she licks herself and will do the same thing. Plus it should be easier to get out. Have fun and Happy haloween to you all.

The fumes from aerosol sprays can be harmful to a pet- not to mention that dogs have a tendency to lick themselves and may be poisoned from the spray. Just because its ok for us, doesn't nessecarily mean its ok for them. Do your dogs a favor and leave them home on Halloween night- the costumes can be confusing and frightening to them, and may cause them to lash out at some unsuspecting trick or treater. You could end up with more problems than its worth if you go through with this plan!!!

Putting anything that is intended for humans only on an animal can really hurt the animal and if you want your dog to be a devil you can always buy her a devil costume which they sell at most halloween or animal stores.
