A dog has shown up at my house and won't leave...?

I have never seen a dog like this before. I think she's a mutt, but someone told me she might be full-blooded. I can't remember what he called the breed though. She's small...she's got the head of a fox (I swear) with really big pointed ears and red hair but the body of a feist. Could she be some sort of full-blooded breed or do you think she's a mutt?

Does it look like this?

If you think it does, it is a Shiba Inu- a VERY foxy-looking dog. Google search Shiba rescue + your zip code and see if you can find someone who will help you by taking the dog.

Shibas are very clean and if you decide to give the dog a bath and let it in your home while you wait for rescue, it shouldn't pose too much of a problem as long as it's housebroken or confined. Good luck- please try to help the dog or she will be hit by a car or killed at the local pound.

EDIT: Allergies. Damn. Do you have a garage you can keep her in for a few days?

Pictures would help big time. But I'd say if it's roaming the streets, it's probably a mixed-breed. If you don't want it there, call the SPCA/Pound/Shelter, etc.. otherwise, take it in and feed the poor thing!

Sounds like a small type of ginger daschound called a derhund, be very careful they are the most vicious dogs known to man. They typically find thier prey by hunting alone and lulling the prey to trust them by being quite friendly, then when you least expect it snap and gobble! If you have a gun i strongly - no I INSIST- that you shoot it. It is your duty as a citizen, the reason you dont see many is that they are destroyed on sight by law due to thier danger ton people and small children. LOCK UP YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS BEFORE ITS TO LATE!!!!!!!!!

Most likely an Akita. Akita's look like foxes in general.

Possibly a younger Akita, as they do appear small.
