Is my dog's health seriously bad?

First it started that he didnt want to eat anythig, then he started losing his hair in his legs and sides, but he is still jumpy and active, but i dont know whats going on with him,its been months since he he lost chunks of his hair and he still hasnt grown it back..he is one of those small dogs(not a chiguagua)

This has been going on for months and you haven't taken him to the vet??? - Why not?

Please take your dog to the vet without delay. Off the top of my head I can think of two possible reasons for the hair loss - Demodectic Mange or Hypothyroidism - or both. It could be sarcoptic Mange, but this would usually itch, and you haven't mention any itching - still, a simple skin scrape would reveal either. Hypothyroidism would be a high contender though - please ask your vet to send a blood sample to either Dr. Jean Dodd's lab or to a lab that does full thyroid panels. You will need at least T3, FT3, T4, FT4 and T3%26amp;T4 autoantibodies tested. Any less than that will NOT give you a reliable diagnosis or rule it out.... whatever your vet may tell you.

Even if a skin scrape tests positive for Mange or some other parasites - still ask for a thyroid test, since low thyroid function is more often than not the underlying reason for skin and coat problems.

The below websites contain all you and your vet would need to know/do if you wanted to send blood for thyroid testing to Dr. Jean Dodds in California. I would highly recommend it, since Dr. Dodds is one of the world's leading experts concerning auto-immune diseases, and she would evaluate the thyroid panel.

So why haven't you taken him to the vet before now? He obviously needs some help here!

If it's been "months" since he lost the hair, I'm guessing he DID start eating. It sounds like he has more than one issue happening here. Get him to a vet and see what a trained professional has to say!

Yo yoU neet to take him to the vet you idiot!! immedialty, gosh dam gay stupid ppl like you these days!!!

Is my dog's health seriously bad?

sounds like mange. take him to the vet now. they can diagnose him if theres more wrong. have them do a heart worm test, a fecal. and blood work. and do it now!

I work at a vet and you need to take him in. Not eating is a serious symptom. The hairloss can be due to whats causing him not to eat, stress, or seasonal allergies. Due to him being so small it's even more imparative to bring him in, small dog's are more at risk for health issues to progress faster, and be more harmful.

Maybe your dog is stressed. Or if he is losing chunks of hair it might be his furr shedding.

Take him to the Vet.

I cannot believe you have not already!

Just get him to settle down a bit. He could be over doing it.
