This is for people who really know there dogs...?

well my gradma is allergic to most dogs but some one told her you can get a hair dog or a fur dog and hair dogs she probably won't have an allergy to (i think one dog is a poddle)

so if there is such things as hair dogs can you tell me some?

One person's allergies may vary greatly from another person's. It is always wise to visit the dog to see if you are allergic to it before you bring it home.

Here is a list of breeds that are good for allergy sufferers (and a link to learn more about the breed):

I am allergic to dogs too, but I have a haired dog. she's a maltese, and I am fine with her :)

yorkies are hair dogs. for some reason, what they have is called 'hair' and not 'fur'. I think it has something to do with shedding or needing to be trimmed, but i am not certain.

I think poodles are too, but I am not certain about that one. There are probably other breeds.

She should try being around one of these dogs before she brings one into her home, though.

I have heard Poodles, Bichon Frise's and Pomeranians have hypoallergenic fur and even people that are usually allergic to dogs are not allergic to those certain breeds.

What coat-type makes the difference?

There are two coat types that produce a lesser amount of allergens: single-coated dogs, who do not have a thick undercoat, and hairless dogs. However even hairless dogs can produce enough dander to to affect a highly allergic person.

Hair-less Dog Breeds

Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless)

American Hairless Terrier

Chinese Crested (Hairless)

Peruvian Inca Orchid

Some of Single-Coated Dog Breeds

Chinese Crested (Powder Puff)

Poodles (all sizes)

Schnauzers (all sizes)

Portuguese Water Dog

Bichon Frise

Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier

Coton de Tulear

Kerry Blue Terrier

West Highland White Terrier

Bedlington Terrier

There is NO such thing as a HYPOALLERGENIC breed!!! I have seen just as many people have a reaction to a Poodle as any other dog. IT IS NOT THE HAIR/FUR.....it is the saliva and the dander!!!

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

I have a Bichonpoo (1/2 Bichon Frise 1/2 Poodle) both are "hair" dogs. so are Maltese, and Yorkshire terriers.

okay well first off all dogs have hair, second there is a kind of shampoo where you can put it on the dogs and people wont be as alergic to them anymore, the shampoo is called hypo aleerginic and also there is dogs that u can buy that wont give out allergies like miniture poodles and dogs like that

It is possible that a dog with more of a hairlike quality fur will cause less allergies, but my understanding it may be the dog dander that causes allergies. Although some breeds that may cause less to no irritation are: Poodle, Yorkie, Silky, Maltese, Schnauzer, Hairless Crested(no hair or fur at all) btw these dogs also do not shed.

a mix between a lab and a golden retriever.. you cant get allergies

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

know "there" dogs? Don't you mean, "know "their" dogs?

And what IS a "hair dog?" As far I know, ALL dogs have hair... even the hairless ones.

And the word is "poodle"... not poddle.

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

yes there is because ive got one and there very cute

shih tzu's are very friendly small dogs...(it seems the elderly prefer lap size dogs, I know my grandparents do!)....and are the only dogs that I know of that don't shed their hair. This might help.

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

yes she can have any dog that doesnt shed this includes poodles, maltese, ****-su, bichon, and teh list goes on..these are also the hairless chinese crested dogs...but any dog that doesnt loose hair (which means it will haveto go to the groomer for regular haircuts or its hair will overgrow)

Most people can handle the shorter haired dogs. The allergies come from the dander that the breed of dog creates. There are tons of short haired dogs out there. Poodles labs Chihuahuas are only a few of them. Ask a local vet on which breed would be less irritating to her allergies.

I have raised over 13 dogs and I have to say the poodle is the one that can be the best pet for those struggling w/ allergies. I have a tea-cup poodle of my own and I'm allergy free, but when I used to have a chihuahua... oh boy, running nose, itchy throat, and sneezing constantly. The reason being, poodles don't shed a lot.

You can get non-allergenic dogs. Search for them on google. But they're a few hundred dollars, maybe more.

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

There is no such dog. Some people react to all dogs. Some seem to bother more than other.

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

I think one is the miniature Schnauzer but i would check online before you get one

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

That's TOTAL ***B-S***!!!!

There's NO SUCH THING as "hypo-allergenic" dogs!!! COAT doesn't make *ANY* difference-it's the saliva %26amp; dander!!

Anybody who tries to tell you different is a LIAR or a FOOL ...or both.

Wise up!

Umm.. poodles generally don't give too much of a problem when it comes to allergys, the main problems come from dandruff and shedding, which poodles have a very small amount of. In any event, they do make a special medication for people allergic to cats and dogs, so they can still have the animals they want.

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

Any dog with a tight curly coat

I'm allergic to cats and dogs. It's worse with cats thank God, because I really love dogs, but it's the short hair type of dog because of the dander that drives me crazy. I can deal way better with a long haired dog like my Golden Retriever. I too heard of the allergy free dog, but I think there is only the one type out so far. Must really cost a small fortune too. I saw it on one of those 60 Minutes type of shows.

American eskimos are dander free and have oils on there fur that repels dirt, so they're very clean. if it's dander that she's allergic to then Eskies are a good choice!

%26amp;%26amp; it helps that they're adorable

This is for people who really know there dogs...?

i think bichons may be okay.

I think the Maltese has hair as well as the poodle, and possibly the shiatsu and Lassa do as well
