Looking for a curly brown dog breed?

I've seen some puppies in the pet shop and don't know the name. I live in Japan and can't read the language. The dogs look like little teddy bears with curly brown hair (maybe a little red) its not dark brown. They have cute, smart eyes (dark brown or black) and cost about $1500. All the dogs were the same color and different ages so it isn't a rare color for them.

Perhaps Curleycoated Retrievers or Irish Water Spaniels. Even Poodles. They also could be one of the 'designer dog' crosses that seem so popular, for example aCockerpoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle crosses. You could try asking. I would think that a Labrador, for example, would still be Labrador in Japanese.

That could be a lot of dog. The price won't help us because all dogs at the pet store cost that much

They could have one breeder that only breeds that particular color.

a pet shop?-dont buy them. they probably came from puppy mills. for that amount of money you can go to a reputable breeder and buy a puppy with a certificate that has had the best start in life possible.

they could be poodles or portugese water dogs. theres a few breeds that can look like that. but please dont buy one you would be supporting puppy mills-the puppy would probably be sickly and inherited diseases such as hip displaysia are more likely to occur later in life.

Also, I agree with Kc - it's best not to get a dog through a pet store. There are so many dogs that need to be rescued in shelters or foster homes.
